The school was founded in 1990 under sole proprietorship of Ayeseminikan Bawo Sabo Eliu
Purpose of establishment was borne out of compassion to fill the educational felt-need of the less privileged households and vulnerable families.
The school motto “To show the light” presupposes there is need to bring hope to the needy families through education of their children

OPERATIONAL DRIVE
Vision Statement: To make children from low income families receive qualitative affordable education and be able to compete with children of the rich anywhere they found themselves.
Mission Statement: To set up school that is comprised of compassionate teachers to provide qualitative education at affordable cost, located within the reach of the less privileged homes.
Core Values: We operate strictly on these five (5) core values

Delivery Target: We target reaching out to the less privileged homes.
PARTNERS
Our partners includes
Parents: Presently the school has over 280 parents with total pupil enrolment of well over 600 in both primary and secondary schools. Though less than 60% of these number actually meet up payment as at when due.
Individual donors: We have helps at intervals from individual donors who helps to pay for some chronic debtors or adopt some orphans for fees paying and sometimes buy books.
Local organizations/NGO’s: Among organizations/NGO’s that have often come to our assistance are:

  • Stimulus Initiative
  • Be Compassionate Inc.
  • Operation Feed the Gifted
  • Purpose Foundation
  • Society for Petroleum Engineers
  • Call 2 Luv Initiative
  • Kindle Africa
  • Send a girl to school group
  • Gokedele Foundation

N.B: It is worth noting that some of the above are still active in sponsorship while other are no more active.
International organisations: Among these are
Newcastle University, Upontyne, UK in collaboration with “The William Charitable Trust Fund” UK – built a Hole-in-the Wall Learning station for the school in July 2008. Though no more functioning for lack of fund to run it. It actually boosted our moral for about four (4) years it worked. The station made computer learning easy then.
Harry Singer Foundation, USA. The foundation had been offering the best performing child from our Primary 6 class, six years secondary education (J.S.S 1 – S.S.S 3) scholarship since 2010. Most of our activities are recorded on the foundation website
Unilever Plc: This Company partnered us by providing treated borehole water for the school in 2017. The water remains functional till date and it is the only source of drinkable water around the town.
The One Impact, USA: This organization currently sponsors 10 kids including school fees, books and lunch
Prof. James Tooley Research Team: This team of researchers led by Prof. James Tooley actually show case Ken-Ade School to the international community through a publication of a book “The Beautiful Tree” written by Prof. James Tooley, published in 2009. Pages 33 – 52 of the book actually x-rayed much about Ken-Ade School. One could Google and get more results about the book and Ken-Ade Private School. The author, Prof. James Tooley is as of today the Vice Chancellor of Buckingham Unversity UK.

Quarterly In-house teacher training programs
Yearly external seminars for teachers to meet up with trend of teaching
PHILANTHROPIC GESTURES
A family that register four (4) kids with us has only two (2) paying full fees, one is half tuition fees while the 4th is free all through his/her education.
Registrations of twins attract payment of tuition fees for only one of them while the other is free tuition.
Orphans that are discovered living with extended families pay no tuition, same as other vulnerable students.

Workforce empowerment: Most of our graduates are today holding significant offices as engineers, doctors, businessmen etc in Nigeria
AFFILIATED ASSOCIATION: Ken-Ade School is a member of Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED). This is an umbrella body of private schools serving the low income families in Nigeria. It is a national body that has over 10,000 members in Lagos State alone.
